See, it’s THIS kind of stuff that makes me annoyed when people say that Reno especially was character murdered in Advent Children. AC had its enormous, glaring, near-unforgivable faults, but Reno and Rude’s treatment was not one of them. They were the HIGHLIGHT of the film — they were always, always comic relief characters, but they were not one-note either and their loyalty to Rufus and Tseng (who really got shafted — tortured half to death and still only a micro-second of screen time!) came through, along with their own kind of twisted morality that means Reno can kill ten guys but also run back into danger to rescue a kid, and get his ass whooped mightily in the name of buying Cloud some time.

I don’t care for Cloud.
